The SBS Bank Kick For Cash was back again in 2021, with lucky Member Mark from Gore winning the chance to kick for $1,000 cash as part of SBS Bank’s sponsorship of the SIT Zero Fees Southland Stags.

All SBS Members were given the chance to enter the draw, with up to $1,000 up for grabs and four gold seated tickets to the Southland Stags Game to share with family and friends.

SBS also pledged to donate $500 to the charity of the winner’s choice, and an additional $500 on their behalf to SBS charity partner Ronald McDonald House South Island.

After several delays due to Covid Alert Levels, Mark was unfortunately unable to attend the game, so Stags player Greg Dyer stepped in to take the kick on his behalf.

Each successful kick was worth $200, with the chance for Mark to walk away with a total of $1,000. Greg did a fantastic job, with the professional successfully making four out of the five kicks, taking the total winnings to $800.

The game was also a great success for the Southland Stags, with the players beating the Northland Rugby Union with a full time score of 37 - 33, securing their place in the semi finals against the Taranaki Bulls on November 13th.
